Overview

Two modes. Running (gates open): a perpetual raid loop — win and the next, stronger party arrives; lose and the dungeon resets free (mobs respawn, traps re-arm, boss revives) and the same strength re-enters. Failure still pays per-kill gold. Building (gates closed): no raids, no income, full editing.

The Dungeon Office is the HQ: dungeon level = office room level. Every unlock level in this wiki means office level. Nothing in the dungeon may out-level the office, and the office will not upgrade until every room it has made available is built and level with it (the lockstep rule).

The Tutorial

Snip walks every new dungeon master through the opening build. Steps complete IN ORDER, each pays the gold and materials the next one needs, and the gates stay shut until the last is done. Every step also GATES the interface - only the tools and screens it names are reachable, so nothing is on screen before it has been explained. Old saves that already pass a step skip straight over it.

The welcome speech

Boss! You made it. Snip - assistant, accountant, and legally the fire warden. Welcome to your dungeon. The old management left in a hurry and did not leave a forwarding address. Here's the deal. Every mob you hire, every trap you set, every room you raise pushes your POWER up. And the higher your power, the fatter the heroes who come knocking - which is exactly what we want, because heroes carry loot and they are terrible at leaving. Ready? Let's make them regret the walk.

A lump-sum kill bonus scaling with adventurer level and the gate-to-boss path length. A lost raid still pays 0.55× per kill.

Digging

Crowding

Every placeable kind gets pricier the more of that kind already stands in the dungeon, on its own count - filling the halls with traps never raises the price of a mob. Upgrade maths still derives from the flat base price.

Where the late-game gold goes

Income never stops, so past a point the pile only grows. Three sinks drain it, all repeatable — a one-shot unlock would only move the wall further out.

Deep-floor upkeep

Every room from floor 2 down bills gold per hour, scaling with its own level and with how deep it sits. Floor 1 never bills, so the early game is untouched. This comes off your income, never off the bank: upkeep can flatten your rate to nothing but can never leave you poorer than you were.

Retraining

Swap a trained mob for a different kind at the same level. Priced off the level you keep — what you are buying back is the drills, not the creature — so it beats levelling a replacement from scratch, but reshaping a whole horde is still a real decision. Refused if your farms could not feed what the mob would become.

Black Market

Unlocks at office level 24, one per dungeon. Turns gold back into materials — the one thing a maxed dungeon is still short of, since a seam only yields a few units an hour. It is deliberately a bad deal: the price per unit climbs steeply with the resource's tier, and levelling the room shaves the markup without ever removing it. The cart sells convenience, not value — if it ever beat the mine, nobody would dig.

Threat & Raids

Raids arrive at random hero levels up to a threat ceiling — the level that would beat your current defense power. Rewards key off raider power, unlocks key off the highest threat you have survived. A breach draw decides the outcome up front, so watched fights, auto-resolved fights and offline raids always agree.

Resources & What Uses Them

Nothing in the dungeon is decoration. Every resource has a producer and a consumer; raw ores come out of the seam on their floor, refined ones out of a refinery that eats the tier below, and the materials adventurers drop all pay for something. This table is generated from the game's own data, so it is what the build actually does.

Mobs

Mobs hold a post and fight anything that comes within their leash of it — and since the sight rework they also charge anything they can SEE within 5 tiles (walls block sight; getting hit always provokes). Mobs are trained at the Training Hall, cost gold + food to recruit, eat food hourly, and cap at the office level. Family auras from villains boost them (see Villains).

Villains

Villains answer the BLACK GATE (a room, Office L5): keys, souls and daily free draws each turn a pull. A pull NEVER hands over a villain — it pays shards, sometimes for several villains at once; 15 shards wake a villain, and every spare shard afterward feeds their ascension. Duplicates are impossible by construction, so no draw is ever dead. Each of the four types (Warden, Trapsmith, Overseer, Warlord) has ONE station slot — the question is always who is my best Warden, never who are my best four.
